Dear MendMeShop,

I developed tendonitis in my left ankle about a year ago, after having some pain and realizing I needed to go to the doctor to see what I’d done! In November, I was told it was tendonitis and to wear a “boot” or air cast and that they would prescribe physical therapy. I was told that I did not need to wear the boot 24/7, but anytime it was painful or would be using my feet a lot, I should use it. Even though I’m a type A and like to multi-task and move quickly, I wore the boot, but boy did it get in my way. The physical therapy definitely helped, and they gave me some exercises to do at home and while gone for about two weeks. I graduated from physical therapy in January, and although my ankle did not really feel stable, the pain had diminished. However my body had aches and pains, some sciatica, my legs had cramping and those worsened whenever using the boot for long walking periods, as suggested by PT’s and doctor. Basically, we dediced that all this had helped, but anytime there was a strain put on that ankle, it was back to swelling and pain. And, the boot helped to keep pressure off the injury, but basically caused more damage to the rest of me. Frustrated, I decided to search tendonitis on line, and was looking for other modalities for healing. Voila! This lead me to the MendMeShop. With their 60 Day Money Back Guarantee, Free Shipping on orders over $200.00 and great support – I decided to purchase (I mean how could I go wrong)! I got the Achilles Inferno Wrap (for pain), the Achilles Freezie Wrap (for swelling, although after using the Inferno really didn’t have a swelling problem) and the 5 Year Extended Warranty on about the 20th of June this year. Read the instructions, called with a couple of questions and got great personalized service, and started using the Inferno Wrap as directed! Immediately my ankle was back to its more normal size and most of the pain was gone. I am able to move freely, actually am working a few days a week on my feet 8-9 hours, and although I don’t believe my tendon is totally healed yet – I believe it will be as I continue to use the Inferno Wrap. I simply saw that the PT (which included some ten treatments) was giving me snippets of relief. The boot left me wondering if it wouldn’t cause other damage even though it took the pressure off the tendon when I was unable to walk on it. The Inferno Wrap, and the few times I’ve needed the Freezie Wrap, have done more for me and has been worth every penny spent. I know I’ve saved 100’s in PT had I not met TheMendMe Shop and their products.

Surgical Tennis Elbow and Golfer's Elbow Treatment

About 85% of people with tennis elbow or golfer's elbow experience pain relief within 12 months of starting their preliminary treatments.

A tennis elbow or golfer's elbow injury will usually heal without surgery. However, if you continue to suffer from persistent pain, weakness or recurring inflammation after trying the above conservative treatments, you may require a surgical option. Although rare overall, this is more common in tennis elbow than golfer's elbow.

The type of surgery you require will depend on the size, shape and location of your injury. This will be completed through day surgery however, it will require extensive rehabilitation utilizing the preliminary treatments noted above.

Physical therapy and strengthening normally begin about 6 weeks after surgery. Your surgeon should provide a treatment plan to help you regain normal use as soon as possible.

Elbow Arthroscopy

Elbow Arthroscopy involves making a small incision on the outside of your elbow and inserting a pencil-thin, fiber optic camera with a small lens and lighting system.

Arthoscopy

The surgeon will take a look inside your joint to investigate all the soft tissues and bones. These images will then be transmitted to a TV monitor, which allow the doctor to make a diagnosis and/or perform the repair under video control.

Your surgeon may repair tears or remove damaged tissue. He/she may have to cut the tendon at its attachment to the epicondyle bone and remove a small portion of the bone to increase blood flow to the area.

Afterwards, sutures (stitches and/or anchors that hold the tissue together after they have been severed) can be used to attach the tendon to the bone. At the end of surgery, your incisions are closed, a dressing is applied, and you are placed in a splint.

Success Stories

There are always some risks associated with any surgery, which include but are not limited to possible infection, allergic reaction to medications, and damage to surrounding nerves or blood vessels. However, modern techniques have significantly minimized the occurrence of these problems.

Tenderness, pain, stiffness and weakness are very common after surgery, but with proper rehabilitation these should diminish.

Although surgery is often successful at repairing any damage and/or relieving pain, it does not necessarily return strength to your elbow or forearm. That is why a strong commitment to rehabilitation is essential.

Healing and recovery time is generally dependent on the extent of your injury, your age, pre-injury level of function, and your commitment to rehabilitation.

MendMeShop Live Chat Live Help

Dear MendMeShop,

I am a retired Orthopedic Surgical Registered Nurse First Asst and I just want to say this Shoulder Inferno Wrap is wonderful. I have had adhesive capsulitis in my left shoulder several times. I am 67yo now and I have Arthritis, Lupus and fibromyalgia and I had bilat knee replacements in 2001. It has always taken about 6months to get back use of my arm and to get relief from pain. I read your information and was expecting it to take at least 6weeks to see an improvement. I have used it this short time since receiving it and I am almost painfree. Occasionally I start to feel a little ache and I put it back on before it becomes pain I have full range of motion when I could not brush my hair or fasten my bra. Again, I am so pleased and hope it helps others too. Jane P.S. I would like to encourage others to try the products and see if they get the same remarkable results as I did. I continue to improve with full ROM remaining and only occasional episodes of pain; As soon as I feel any pain, I use it 2-3 days in a row and the pain is gone. This is probably Arthritis as it feels different.
