Dear MendMeShop,

I'm writing you because I have had an EXCELLENT experience with your company--not only with the products, but with the CUSTOMER SERVICE. Your representatives are amazing. I feel like they really care and I don't feel like I'm being rushed when speaking to them. They listen. They are respectful and kind. When you are in so much pain it is so comforting to get answers and have support, and that's what your company does. Every phone call I have made to you I have hung up feeling happy and with my questions answered. I refer my friends and family to your company all the time. I wish more CEOs would run business like you. It is clear that you really care about the PEOPLE you serve. I am taking the time to write you to tell you that your customers notice. Kind regards, Jessica

Medications and Support Aids for a Pulled Hamstring

Pain medications (analgesics) and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can be used if required to help manage your hamstring pain. However, these medications will not cure your condition; they will merely treat some of your symptoms.

These drugs aren't recommended for everyone or for long term use, as pain medications can cause liver damage, and NSAIDs can cause gastrointestinal difficulties (such as upset stomach, diarrhea, ulcers and intestinal bleeding). They can also trigger other serious side effects, and even inhibit the body's natural ability to heal itself. COX-2 Inhibitors (prescription NSAIDs like Celebrex, Bextra or Vioxx, block the COX-2 enzyme involved with prostaglandin production responsible for inflammation) have been linked with risks of heart attack, stroke and in some cases death. The US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) asked manufacturers to withdraw some COX-2 Inhibitors (Vioxx and Bextra) from the market as well as put a big black warning label on the packaging outlining the risks involved with use (Celebrex).

Injection

Cortisone/steroid injections may initially help reduce inflammation and swelling of your pulled hamstring. However they are very controversial, as they can trigger a hamstring tear (this is influenced by the severity of injury and frequency of injections). Botox injections have also recently been used to relieve pain and tension. Ask your doctor if any of these are options for your condition. Corticosteroids should be used with caution and never in conjunction with ultrasound therapy.

Some health professionals have also recommended natural supplements such as Glucosamine, MSM, Chondritin, Capsaicin, Devil's Claw, Arnica or Yucca Leaf to help relieve pain and/or strengthen your tissues. Hyaluronic Acid (Hyalgan) injections have also had some success.

Alternating Hot Therapy and Cold Therapy treatments can be used once your initial pain and swelling has decreased to provide relief and improve function.

Elbow Inferno Wrap Personal Therapy System

Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy™ promotes the flow of blood through the injured area without the need to exercise your already damaged tissue. You can really feel it work. Within moments of applying an Inferno Wrap™ you can feel the healing sensation and the increase in blood flow. During a treatment, and for quite some time after you finish, your injured area will experience increased blood flow even though your body is at rest. It's a soothing sensation and extremely effective. With BFST™ your injury is constantly being fed with healing, nutritious, oxygen and energy filled blood. This is exactly what your body needs to heal.

Cold Therapy involves using a cold compress to help decrease any inflammation, swelling, muscle spasms, as well as tendon and ligament strains and sprains, by constricting blood flow and restricting fluid build up. Cold also has a numbing effect on your nerves to decrease feelings of pain.

Our Cold Compression Wraps are recommended by countless medical professionals. That's why we sell them, because they are the best. We have noticed over time that our customers are so fond of our cold wraps that they are frequently coming back and ordering a second one. The wraps are becoming very popular with baseball and soccer trainers, and the wraps can be conveniently stored in a cooler for quick application on the field when needed.

Success Stories

Corrective footwear, orthotics, or inserts provide arch support and help to align your muscles and bones so they work together. These will also help keep your foot in a more comfortable position and provide relief from overpronation. They can be custom made with the help of a chiropodist, podiatrist, or a chiropractor. Or, if you prefer you can purchase general heel cups, pads or inserts to help cushion and elevate your heel.

MendMeShop Live Chat Live Help

Dear MendMeShop,

Dear Mendmeshop, I would like to thank Mendmeshop for being such a blessing. I have always been a runner all my life and last November 2010 it finally caught up to me. I was in severe pain with my foot and I didn't understand why after further investigation I realized that I had tendonitis of my foot. I was devastated because the pain was almost unbearable at times. I could barely sit down or stand up for periods of time without being in excruciating pain. I never thought that I would be able to work out again, until finally, I discovered your shop. Needless to say that after using the inferno wrap and Night tread foot splint I am running again!!!! Every now and then I experience some discomfort with my foot after work out or whatever but that s understandable you guys are truly, truly, truly, a blessing thank you all and God Bless because I got my life back!
